just snooping around the web and found details of ALL the runs from the vwdrc meet at big bang on eurodragster
it actually makes interesting reading now i’ve got some idea what to look for.
the information is all gridded up showing all the qualifying and eliminations, each drivers dial in time, their reaction time, their 60ft time, 1/8th mile, quarter mile and their terminal speed.
looking back at the qualifying for the bus i can see how inconsistent the runs were…
but most interestingly, seeing as most of the wins or loses are in the manner of a few hundredths of a second i wondered where the mistakes were.
(it seems to me that it’s less about being ‘better’ and more about making fewer mistakes)
it would appear that most races are decided on the reaction time. often the winners are running with a bigger margin of error on the dial in times they run to but are making it all up on the reaction time. some ofthe drivers are like clockwork.
bang on consistent reaction times, everytime
think i better get the linelock sorted real quick so i can launch properly without rolling back off the startline (did i tell you that the startline at skanka pod is slightly downhill?) when i stage at the moment i can’t reach the handbrake…
oops..
