ploughing through so much video footage, the new camera mount is working well. the footage should cut together well. i could do with a wide angle convertor in the video camera. inside the cab the angles are quite narrow.

i’ve also started processing the still frames i took. some of them have come out quite well. i got the feeling when i was taking some of the portrait shots that i might have found what i was looking for in this project. the stop frame movies i shot of the engine assembly and dissassembly have worked out well. more careful (ie less rushed) setup and framing will help, as will some heavy colour grading and perhaps some video filtering after the fact…

we shall see.

some of the portraiture has got something. i need to lock myself in the studio for a few weeks and ruminate with the material….
