fixing lazy starter in the doka?
Starter motor on the double cab #t3 is super lazy and the solenoid sticks – so – a Sunday of crawling under it and twisting arms into impossible positions extracts the starter – and the starter bushing in the gearbox – new bushing in and solenoid cleaned – let’s see how it goes

VW T3 westalia 2.1 with weber 40idf rolling road tuning run
A quick tuning run on the dyno for the new T3 westfalia, 2.1 MV engine with 40idf webers and pertronix ignition. After updating the carb internals with the CBperformance IDF update kit – new bigger venturis and horizontal style spray bars) and re-jetting it we got the idle, balance and emissions dialled in quickly.

I’ve not driven the bus now for a few weeks and so headed into the gloomy november afternoon light do give it a run through and warm the engine. Sadly – and predictably – the huge new Yuasa battery I swapped in just a few weeks ago after the old one (8 years and counting)…
