Could be that the reason the #t3 doka double cab temperature gauge and coolant sensor indicator is being wired is because the relay that controls it all is missing….

it turns out that (on later inspection of the bentley factory manual) the relay is screwed to the bulkhead up behind the instrument panel because putting it somewhere accessible like with all the other relays in the fuse and relay panel would be too obvious…
