after an early start i decide to keep the single quiet pack exhaust on the bus rather than swap it back to the magnaflow muffler as i had intended. no real reson, just lazy i guess…
..off to the bank and sneak out with a big manilla envelope and off to portsmouth to the funkenblitz workshop to meet peet and look at an engine…

needless to say i am now poorer by quite a bit but had the dubious pleasure of driving the samba back with 4.1litres of aircooled power in it…
…albeit with 2.3 litres of it sat in the back on the lino…

one thing (of the many) that struck me from the day was that it’s incredible how much garbage men talk when they’re around women but that’s nothing to the garbage that they talk when they’re just with other men…

oh and if you’re from the road planning department in Bath and you’re reading this then take note! when you make a diversion because you’ve got a dog show in town try not to divert the main A road traffic from the edge of town straight through the centre.
