after looking into the prices of a new water pump i came to the conclusion that after i’d done the running around to find a machineshop to drill out the proken studs and helicoil the pump and then drop it off and collect it paying ?24.50 for a brand new one with gaskets and seals wasn’t too bad. and i still get to flog the old one on ebay to someone that has a helicoil kit…
so a trip to GSF and i come back with a new oil filter, oil, eight litres of coolant additive (eek… this stuff is expensive!) and a new water pump.

then onto spannering in the yard. the front wheel bearings on the hightop needed adjusting. they were changed at the end of the summer but are gettign noisy. hopefully this will sort it all out. trial fit the new water pump.mmmm nice and shiny. i also sprayed some bits black yesterday. they’re shiny too and waiting to be bolted back on… feeling better about it already.
it might even work!
