The process of swapping out the carb powered 2.1l MV wbx and changing over to EFI begins. The fuel tank in the double slider is a carb style one – and now 30 years old – so a new EFI fuel tank is ordered up – this has an internal swirl pot and bigger output and return lines to run a high pressure fuel system. The old engine is dropped out and the engine bay prepped to receive it’s new visitor.
The new tank gets a full coat of hammerite gloss black and in it goes – as the tank tips down from its front edge you need to get the van up high on blocks (or have a ramp or lift) to get it out.
