after lots of faffing anf pauses left anmd right it all seems to be coming together…

after trying to get the head studs out of the case and having them just snapping like glass time after time i sent the case with the broken studs in ovet to a place thoma shell recommended, pison broke over on the other side of bristol…
the place is in a tiny unit on an industrial estate, the back is full of opld machines and the front is covered in random motorcycle engine parts with stacks of wiseco pistons of all sizes in beaps of boxes in the corners….
i wasn’t too sure but after listening i realised that the old boy that runs it knows his stuff, he talks like its steamtrains but knows his physics, chemistry and metallurgy… he told me he’d done loads of cases iwth broken studs through the eighties &nineties and it’d be done in a week…

all good there then. i was starting to worry that i was stuck..

all the internals are waiting to be sent for balancing in coventry. all i need is new flywheel bolts – they’re not strictly re usable… so off to the main dealer (no where else seems to be able to supply them…) and get a pulley gland nut too…
then realise that i need new con-rod bolts (the 2.1 bolts are stretch and not re-usable) so order form the main stealership again and i think it’s all there…

crank, rods, flywheel, pulley, bolts etc off to be dynamically balanced…

case, cleaned and checked and ready for new head studs…

all i need now is to do a bit of shopping and all is go…

sadly all t25 engine bits are not cheap ! the main dealer wanted ?300 for a gasket set and when i enquired about a new case i was quoted over ?1500 + vat ! EEK!

i’ve also disassembled the new replacement heads and have located a set of interiort door cards from mark germman up in coventry, in the right sort of colour..

still huge amounts to do but i almost feel like it’s starting to happen…

(i’m still toying with the idea of selling my house so i can spend all the money… EEEEEKKKKK! )
