the carbs and distributor, ignition & fuel system have been stripped off been replaced with a full electronic fuel injection system featuring DTA fast engine management system feeding 45mm throttle bodies, bosch injectors, a Taylor custom crank sensor unit & pulley, full hi pressure fuel circuit, sensors for head temp, ambient air temp, fuel pressure, throttle position, voltage, crank sensor and lambda sensor. also installed is a Hurst linelock which has been wired into the ECU top provide RPM launch control, a new external 8pass oil cooler & electric fan setup and an autometer oil temp gauge on the burgeoning bouquet of instruments springing from the dash.

the best quarter mile so far is 15.11s at 93mph on 1st November at santapod raceway in the UK.

The engine has been rebuilt, january 2004 following cooking number 4 bearing in December 2003. The damage included a stretched rod, microfractures in the the crank, bearing swarf through the pump and damaged feet on the rocker adjusters.

The rebuilt engine has a replacement 84mm Scat Procomp crank, 1.4 ratio rockers rather the the original 1.25 ones a new set of Scat H beam Rods and shorter Velocity stacks on the throttle bodies.

After the break in on the dyno at Taylor Machine Services in Bradford the engine and makes;
175.2 BHP @ 5391 rpm
183 Ft/Lb of torque @ 4376 rpm

In this picture you can see the placement of the oil breather tank over the original battery, the relays for the split charge battery system, the IRS conversion and the rear gearbox strap over the bell housing with the replacement reinforced cradle, part of the ECU wiring loom (behind this you can just see the High Pressure fuel pump behind the loom) and the large leisure battery that powers the head unit and amps and the 240v main inverters. this is how it looked before the porsche fan conversion.
